About the Artist

Hey loves! I’m Jordan, a 19-year-old artist, musician and writer living between small town KY and Nashville, TN. I am now on year 2 of working toward my BFA in Studio Art at Belmont University

Currently in the prime period of growth and exploration, I wouldn’t consider myself a professional by any means, but I love what I’m doing and will take any opportunity I can get to grow. Living part-time in Nashville has given me some incredible opportunities for growth and enrichment within the art community. Introduced to me by the AmeriCorps program, I now am able to call myself an official employee at Smart Art + Craft Supplies, a nonprofit arts + crafts thrift store that provides employment and job training for adults with intellectual disabilities. Working at Smart has only made my love for art grow as well as my love for the world.

I believe art has the power to change lives. Art is everywhere and everything. It inspires, and it feeds, and it brightens. A single piece of art can evoke emotions so powerful, so unique, and so foreign that we might never had known they existed. This might sound somewhat cheesy and dramatic, but it is wholeheartedly what I believe—and I know I’m not alone in that belief.

Though I am particularly inspired by the human figure, I really just enjoy painting compositions that represent my idea of what is

beautiful and true. I enjoy finding beauty in the mundane and doing everything I can to copy that beauty onto a canvas. Through my work, I want to spread positivity, hope, and inspiration. I want to brighten dark spaces and create welcoming environments for anyone and everyone. I want to showcase the beauty and fragility of life. I want to spread the message that, no matter our conflicts and our differences, we’re all sharing the same time and space—and we should take advantage of that time and space.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to do good with my passions. How I do that is up to me, and I honestly have no idea how to make that happen. But, let’s start here. If you would like, take a quick look through my work, and see if it inspires you or brings about any sort of emotion. If it does, that’s incredible. If it doesn’t, I encourage you to look somewhere else because inspiration is out there and waiting for you.

Feel free to follow along on my journey through my YouTube channel or my blog here on this website. I’m really happy to have you here. <3

xoxo, Jordan
